It shall be the policy of the Randolph School Committee to allow staff members to participate in an administrative practicum whenever such a practicum, in the judgment of the Superintendent and the School Committee, lends to the professional development of the individual and can be shown to be supportive of a school or the school system. The following requirements shall be met but may be waived or modified by the School Committee.

1.  An approved program of studies leading to an advanced degree in an accredited college or university.

2.  The practicum shall in no way interfere with the regular assignment of the staff member.

3.  The request for approval shall include the specific duties and appropriate time schedule.

4.  Whenever possible the practicum shall involve at least one system-wide assignment.

5.  A report summarizing the administrative practicum shall be submitted to the Superintendent of schools at the conclusion of the practicum period.

6.  The practicum must be recommended by the Superintendent.

7.  The practicum must be approved by vote of the School Committee.
